Will I have the strength to resolve, if I create something, to address morality in blacks and whites. Even the grays, in blacks and whites.

Goodness is so to be aspired to.
Today, watching Chuan treat those around him with gentleness, good humour, humility, deference and love, and having him bring out the same qualities in me, Hsu Li Chuan has once again reminded me that I am so much more than that.
Yesterday, Li Chuan married Huiling at Trinity Christian College.

From the ends of the earth
From the depths of the sea
From the heights of the heavens
Your name be praised

From the hearts of the weak
From the shouts of the strong
From the lips of all people
This song we raise, Lord

Chorus:
Throughout the endless ages
You will be crowned with praises
Lord Most High
Exalted in every nation
Sovereign of all creation
Lord Most High, be magnified

I stood beside him as his bride walked down the aisle towards him. As has been said before, and will be said again, the look on man's face as he sees his bride walking down the aisle towards him is not something for words.

All the colors of the rainbow
All of voices of the wind
Every dream that reaches out
That reaches out to find where love begins

Every word of every story
Every star in every sky
Every corner of creation lives to testify

For as long as I shall live
I will testify to love
I'll be a witness in the silences when words are not enough
With every breath I take I will give thanks to God above
For as long as I shall live
I will testify to love

From the mountains to the valleys
From the rivers to the sea
Every hand that reaches out
Every hand that reaches out to offer peace
Every simple act of mercy
Every step to kingdom come
All the Hope in every heart will speak what love has done

Then... a pastiche of moments. Denesh Divyanathan talking about Foreigner's "I want to know what love is", Jerry Mcguire, When Harry Met Sally, and Notting Hill, and what love is. Huiling breaking down while saying her vows. Another pastor preaching in Chinese, and me not catching much of what he said. Two rows of stern but joyous men, in starched white uniforms, forming an arch of blades. (desmond?) mouthing a prayer.

Tomorrow morning if you wake up
and the sun does not appear
I will be here

If in the dark, we lose sight of love
Hold my hand, and have no fear
'Cause I will be here

I will be here
When you feel like being quiet
When you need to speak your mind
I will listen

And I will be here
When the laughter turns to cryin'
Through the winning, losing and trying
We'll be together
I will be here

Tomorrow morning, if you wake up
And the future is unclear
I will be here
Just as sure as seasons were made for change
Our lifetimes were made for these years
So I will be here

I will be here
And you can cry on my shoulder
When the mirror tells us we're older
I will hold you

And I will be here
To watch you grow in beauty
And tell you all the things you are to me
I will be here

I will be true to the promise I have made
To you and to the One who gave you to me

Tomorrow morning, if you wake up
And the sun does not appear
I will be here
Oh, I will be here.

Chuan breaking down as he sang the "I will be here" to Huiling, and Huiling breaking down as Chuan sang to her, and me not being able to help tearing while listening to Chuan sing.

Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,
Still be my Vision, O Ruler of all.

To record: I am so proud to have been Chuan's best man. To be there when he graduated from our Law School. To be there when he was commissioned an officer of the Singapore Armed Forces. And now, to be there to see him off to be married.

I am so proud, and honoured, and blessed to have such a friend, and to see him grow as a person and as a child of God.

I regret not putting to pen my thoughts on the day that Dean was married.
